Week of April 2, 2018

On Wednesday we attended a fabulous assembly, Be Seen and Heard, led by Victor Pacini. I know you have been sent this information before, but I encourage you to check out the link to the assembly here. Ask your child what he/she learned.

This Monday we will not have a library visit because it is being used for assessments.

Friday will be a busy day for your Little Bear:
8:30 is our class play
9:00 Clay project
1:00 Cornerstone

Next week, I will send home information about two projects.  One is the Flat Stanley Project.  The other is the Project Recycle, which will replace our regular homework packet, during the week of April 16.

I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Week of March 26, 2018

We have had a lot of time inside for recess this week.  I saw the sun in the forecast, so hopefully, the students can enjoy more fresh air next week!

Tomorrow is a Staff Work Day, so there is no school for students.

On Tuesday, Alta Vista and our District Office will be hosting a STEAM Night from 6:00-7:30pm.

On Wednesday, we will be attending our Safety Assembly.  I will forward the information in case you missed the email.

We uploaded another video to our Seesaw accounts.  If you haven’t signed up yet, you can view your child’s work by signing up here:  https://app.seesaw.me/s/197-506-757

I hope you have a nice weekend!

Leprechaun Trap

Here are some pictures of our class Leprechaun Trap.

Week of March 19, 2018

It was nice meeting everyone at parent-teacher conferences.  This was our last official conference of the year; however, if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Friday is a Staff Development Day, so there is no school for students.

Thank you, parent helpers in and out of the classroom this week!

I can't wait to hear about the leprechaun shenanigans that happen over the weekend.  Someone said that "He" usually uses the restroom and the toilet water is green.

Don’t forget your library book for Monday.  J

Have a great weekend!

Friday, March 16th is AV Spirit Day, Wear Green!

Because of St. Patrick’s Day spirit our Student Council is having a Leprechaun Trap contest, one from each classroom. We will work together and build a trap on Wednesday. If you would like to contribute an item to our trap, please see our sign up here.

The Book Fair is here and it’s open through Tuesday, March 13th. Students can visit it for lunch if they bring money.

Week of March 5, 2018

Dear Families,

What a wonderful performance last Tuesday evening!  I can tell our Bears were excited to be at school in the evening!  They knew it was a special event. :) Thank you for your support!

We started something new in our homework packets this week, Spelling Sentences.  Students should write three sentences trying to use more than one spelling word in each sentence.  We worked on this week’s sentences in class.  I will attach a copy of them on our blog page.

During conferences (3/8-3/16), students will be dismissed at 1:15.  Here is our conference schedule. http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c084ea4ad28a7f49-spring1

Thank you to our Guest Readers this week and parent volunteers for your help in and out of the classroom!
