Week of April 1, 2019

Dear Parents,
I went home early today because my son, Andreas is sick, he has a fever and not feeling well.  Our class ended the day with Mrs. Yates. The students had already packed their yellow folders that contained their homework for next week and information about Flat Stanley.
Next week, I will send home information about our Project Recycle, which will replace our regular homework packet, during the week of April 15.

Week of March 25, 2019

Dear Families,
We had a great Cornerstone lesson on Tuesday about encouraging our friends.  We played a fun game where we passed a ball quickly to each other (over/under), and made sure we praised each one of our classmates.
We glazed our last clay project and it will be ready to share with our families in a few weeks.  They are adorable!
We made a visit to the Makerspace and worked on insect diagrams using various supplies.  We uploaded our work to seesaw.
On Monday we will start to work on our own creative story in class.  I will send more information home in the following week if you’re interested in purchasing a copy of the hardbound class book.
Hoping we are moving towards the end of the flu season. Just a reminder that if your child has been ill, he or she needs to stay home until they are fever free (or vomit-free) for at least 24 hours (without medicine).

We would love some glue stick donations. :)
Have a wonderful weekend!

Dear Families,

Thank you to our guest readers this week!  We celebrated Read Across America today by incorporating reading most of the day!  We also had a visit from Eric Heins, the CTA President.  He read the first graders the story, It’s Okay To Be Different.  I’ll attach a picture.

We will have an Art Vistas lesson on Wednesday at 9:30, if you would like to help, please let me know.

Parent-teacher conferences start on Thursday.  Conferences run from Thursday, March 7 through Friday, March 15.   Here is our schedule.

Thank you parent volunteers for your help in and out of the classroom this week!

I hope you have a great weekend!
