Week of May 15, 2017

We only have 19 days of school left, the class is counting. Homework #30 is our last homework packet of first grade!

This Monday will be the last week to check out library books. Also, we are back to our regular library time of 9:30.

Thank you all for being flexible with our different substitutes the last 6 days. Each one had wonderful things to say about our class.

Thank you to Mrs. Dupree and Mrs. Kasenchak for our great Cornerstone lesson on Tuesday.

I’d like to put together a slideshow of pictures throughout the school year. I have many, however if you have any that captures many students from our class, I would love a copy. You can send them to me via email, CD/DVD, or dropbox with myMrsCherylBergman@gmail.com email address.

I hope I see you tonight at the Fantasy Fair (5:00-8:00). The students had a glimpse of the cakes for the Cake Walk.

Happy Mother's Day!

Week of May 8, 2017

Thank you for a lovely Teacher Appreciation Week!  Thank you for all the beautiful flowers, treats and the cards from the students! I’m excited to visit the Oakland Zoo with my family as well as a dinner out to Opa!  The teachers also enjoyed a delicious lunch on Wednesday provided by the HSC!  I really feel appreciated!  J Thank you!!

I will continue to be out Monday – Thursday this week for the GLAD (Guided Language Acquisition & Design) training.  It’s exciting to learn about this strategy for reading and writing, however I do miss the students.  Our substitutes have said that our class has been very well behaved. J

The last day to order yearbooks is on Monday, May 8th!  Give yourself some time to customize it with your own personal pictures. http://altavista.picaboo.com

The Fantasy Fair is on Friday - always a great memory and favorite of many!  If you are interested in the wristbands, the discounted price is available through May 10th.

The wristbands are $25 online before 5/10 and $40 at the door.  You can purchase them through the same site where you paid your CCP at the beginning of the year.  There is also an option to write a check with your order if you prefer.  https://www.myschoolanywhere.com
The Fantasy Fair committee is also looking for volunteers for this event, if you can help out please see the link: http://avhsc.ivolunteer.com/treasureisland

Also, our class is sharing a game booth with Mrs. Threet’s class.  There are a few more 30-minute spots left, thank you for your help! http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c48aeae2fa7fa7-bergmanthreet

We have really enjoyed seeing all the many places Stanley has been to.  If your Stanley Display is ready, please bring him in when you can.  If you need more time, please let me know.

Thank you to all our parent helpers this week in and out of the classroom!  I appreciate you so much!

I hope you have a great weekend!
