Week of September 17, 2018

Dear Families,

Today was International Dot Day based on the story, The Dot by Peter Reynolds.  Here is a video of some of our fun with the story and project.

Here are some pictures from our first visit to the MakerSpace.  We made Foil Art with the help of our parent volunteers: Brittny, Kym, Mahshad, Marie, Tanya, and Lawrence.  Thank you for your help!

What We’re Doing in Class this Week:
Language Arts: Cause and Effect in a story.  We continue to review consonants sounds in Phonics. Review proper use of upper/lowercase letters and end marks to sentences.
Math: We are continuing with Module 1 this week in our Eureka Math curriculum. This module sets the foundation for students to master sums and differences to 10.  This module will take us through October.
Writing: We will be focusing on personal narrative writing this trimester.
Social Studies: Respect and Community
Technology: Continue to learn 2 new apps: Seesaw (an online journal for students and parents, more information to come) and Quizlet Live.  We will begin using Raz Kids this week
Sharing Assignment: Something that reminds you of Fall/Autumn.  Write down 3 clues, and bring your share in a small bag or backpack.
